Big Sexy Beer Glass

This product is unavailable

The Big Sexy Beer Glass is not for the light of heart. It is an big ole snifter matched only by the enormous flavors of the Imperial and Dark Beers being poured in it's voluptuous form. The term imperial is used in the craft beer world to refer to an extra-ordinarily strong beer, be it an Imperial India Pale Ale (DiPA), a Russian Imperial Stout, or just about any high ABV/High Gravity version of a traditional beer (Imperial Oatmeal Porter anyone?!?). The snifter form allows for maximum aromatic focusing, as well as provides some serious surface contact area for your hands to warm the malty, boozy brew poured inside. Tasty tip for drinking most of these High-Gravity Beers- Take the brew out of the fridge for about 30-60 minutes before pouring and serving. Most of these beers are best at Cask Temperatures...around 50-55 degrees.

The new solid bottom gives a great heft to this glass while allowing us to feature a rotating pattern or image as the beer muses whisper inspiration to our glass blowers. Hand-washing these glasses is recommended.

A selection of beer types that this glass will highlight, but not limited to:

Pretentious Glass Co is a glassblowing studio dedicated to glassware designed specifically for Craft Beer, Wine and Whiskey. PBGC originated in 2012 from a small drinking club at the Mellwood Arts Center in Louisville, KY.

All the glasses by hand at Matthew Cummings Studios in Knoxville, TN.

They use techniques that haven’t really changed in several hundred years. Molten glass is collected on a hollow blowpipe, and shaped with the use of wet newspaper pads or wooden tools. After the glasses are finished hot, they take each glass to the coldshop where they engrave and/or grind the bottoms flat. It’s a small scale operation with Matthew & his friends despite the volume and distribution of their product.
